We sailed out of Ensenada in thick, dense fog at 2200 (10 pm) November 8th, 2013. I mean it was a real pea-souper. I actually questioned my own rationale whether this was a wise decision or not, then countered that fog and pitch dark were part & parcel of passage-making, so we just got on with it. I had the company of N50 ‘Worknot’ (Gale & Mary Plummer) for the first 50 miles or so, until we naturally spread out, choosing our own preferred routes. I particularly like to go further offshore, away from the coast, away from the traffic, the fishermen, unlit bouys, debris, etc,, 60 miles offshore seems to work for me. Cruising like this, it’s not uncommon to see nothing on the radar for days, just the way I like it.
When the sun rose, we found ourselves steaming into a beautiful day – and dolphins on the Stbd bow! We also tried our hand at fishing, for the first time. Score: FISH =1, INFINITY = 0 The fish took our lure & our hook, (borrowed from Bill on ‘Anna Mae’) but we were ‘hooked’ ourselves, & vowed to try again. Suddenly I found out what all the fishing fuss was about, that we’d heard of all these years.
Our boat was one of the first fleet vessels to arrive Turtle Bay (Bahia Tortugas) and it was fun to see so many Nordhavns in one place (pinch me now). We had a full day and a night here, and then pressed on towards Mag Bay, the next night.
“A beautiful morning,,,we’re almost there”

“Here comes N62 ‘Anna Mae'”
“the arrival of ‘Family Time’ ”
“N55 ‘Giddy-Up’ joining the group”
“three Nordies together : )”
“Giddy-Up & Anna Mae share a sunset”
” Margarita time onboard INFINITY! (Dale & Mary Ann Harper – our great friends, onboard for the Fubar)”

Margariata time onboard INFINITY! (Dale & Mary Ann Harper – our great friends onboard for the Fubar)
“Grayson Rohland of ‘Family Time'”
“Julie & Andy in their favourite spot — together! –“
“Sunset grill”
” ‘Family Time’ & ‘Spring Day’ “
“taking Harley for a burn”
“INFINITY & the Turtle Bay vista”
“Zinc replacement,,, it’s not all Margarita’s & Playtime”
“Boats everywhere,,, a beautiful way to wind down the day.”
The fleet had a Beach Party on the 2nd night. Nothing too wild though, as we pulled anchor & headed to Mag Bay later that same night. At 2115, INFINITY cleared Turtle bay, into strong beam seas.

Could you add me to your blog list? N-4676
Hi Doug – You have been added. : ) Welcome to the INFINITY site.! I’m currently updating our travels as I type here (now adding photos from Mag Bay). It’s tedious work on a sloowww internet connection. I’ll get there soon, hopefully complete by New Years.
Hi Andy, Your trip log is welcome reading here. Looking forward to more pictures. What a great trip !
p.s. some photos aren’t coming thru at my end-perhaps that’s what you meant by having trouble with slow internet.
Hi David! I’m trying to upload pictures, text, & video from a limited satellite connection, offshore Indonesia. Just not happening really. I’ll keep plugging away though. Once all the content is on the site, I’ll look for ways to improve load times. Thanks for the visit. : )
Great to see more photos from your travels and the fun your having. Happy New Year to you all.
Andy
I love the pics you posted. The water looks great. Where are you guys going from here?
Mike
Hi Mike – thanks for kind words. For the first half of 2014, we are going to to explore the Sea of Cortez, and for the second half, who knows? I would really like to head West, but no firm plans have been made one way or the other at this time. We remain open, inviting nature to influence us. BTW, I have just completed MAG BAY and posted it up to the website, but my internet connection is so slow here in Indonesia, I cannot even see it. Let me know if it’s up. SAN HOSE DEL CABO, LA PAZ, & PUERTO VALLARTA will be uploaded soon.
